Come explore the technology of paper microfluidics in a CEID design-thinking workshop. Paper microfluidics takes advantage of capillary flow in porous material guided by custom-designed wax channels to create inexpensive functional analytic test devices. In this workshop, you will explore the full range of the technology including 1) the geometry of the channels 2) the functionalization of the test wells 3) the imaging of the signal, and 4) the robust packaging of the overall device. The exploration will be guided and reinforced by the principles of design thinking and take advantage of the CEID wetlab space.
