For the last several decades designers have been developing systems and processes for taking user-centered approaches, considering the “person” first and designing accordingly. These methods continue to beimportant - but by now have become common knowledge, practiced globally. While we’ve been focusing on the process, we may have disregarded knowledge, about design. There is still a lot to know about how design affects us, both physically and psychologically. As we evolve it’s inevitable that we’ll need to add metrics to design, and take a more evidence-based approach. I’ll point to a few of these in this talk, and discuss how it may significantly affect what you are now doing.
